* Optiva Securities offers an advisory service to clients where your broker can advise you on the most appropriate investments for your goals with a focus on wealth creation and absolute returns.

We are about creating wealth for our clients, which can involve investments in early stage and unlisted companies, both in the UK and overseas. Investments may include seed capital financing, pre-IPO, IPO opportunities and secondary placings from our own Corporate Finance Team or in conjunction with other brokers. There are risks associated with these kinds of investments, which may result in losses as well as gains.

FCA rules require us to disclose whether we provide “independent” or “restricted” advice in respect of Retail Investment Products (“RIPs”). The stocks and shares on which we advise you are not defined as RIPs. RIPs are generally life policies, units, pension schemes or savings schemes. We are unable to advise you on any of these products other than units. If you have a requirement in any retail investment product area other than units, you should seek the advice of an Independent Financial Adviser.

Nonetheless it is a requirement under the new rules that only advisers who draw their recommendations from an analysis of products and investments from the whole of the market, based on all available retail products, can say they offer independent advice. As this firm does not cover all such products, we are unable to describe ourselves as “independent”. We therefore offer a “restricted” service in retail products.

There are risks associated with investing in securities. Investing in stocks, bonds, exchange traded funds, mutual funds, and money market funds involve risk of loss.  Loss of principal is possible. Some high risk investments may use leverage, which will accentuate gains & losses. Foreign investing involves special risks, including a greater volatility and political, economic and currency risks and differences in accounting methods.  A security’s or a firm’s past investment performance is not a guarantee or predictor of future investment performance.
